The gap between China's packaging machinery and the international level and its countermeasures (III)

1. the gap in product technology

China's packaging industry used to be in a situation of low productivity, low main technology, too small scale, free and decentralized production, low enterprise management level and insufficient national investment. Most enterprises are still in need of technological transformation, technological innovation, improving product quality The key period of strengthening modern management and system transition. The structural adjustment, technological upgrading, product upgrading, scale benefit, rational layout and transformation of management system of the packaging industry are still important topics in the new century

compared with developed countries, the gap between China's packaging machinery products is mainly reflected in the following aspects: poor control technology and product reliability, too slow to complete the experiment at the required speed driven by the force application beam at the speed of technology update, and too narrow the scope of new technology, new materials and new technology promotion. The overall level is 20 years behind that of developed countries. At present, only about 5% of China's packaging machinery products can reach the level of developed countries in the early 1990s, another 20% can only be compared with foreign products in the 1980s, and the remaining 60% can only reach the level of foreign products in the 1970s

China's packaging machinery is inferior to imported products in terms of product development, performance, quality, reliability, price, service, etc., and cannot resist the influx of imported products. Among the imported equipment, it is generally high-tech or large-scale equipment, which can not be manufactured in China or can not meet the technical requirements for use. Such as aseptic packaging machine, large high-speed beverage filling machine, labeling machine, combined electronic scale, etc. Although some equipment can be manufactured in China, its reliability is not good. The food quality and shelf life produced are not as good as those of imported equipment, such as ice cream packaging machine. The proportion of import and export of packaging machinery is too different. Take 1998 as an example: the total import and export of packaging machinery was US $1.48 billion, and the total import was US $1.44 billion, an increase of 21.3% over 1997. The export was only 0.45, which reduced the benefits of the system by US $million, 8.9% over 1997. The import was nearly 33 times the export proportion. From the perspective of China's export products in 1998, most of China's exports are low-grade, low value-added or labor-intensive products for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, while the imported products are large-scale complete sets of equipment and high-tech products

2. the gap in product varieties

at present, there are about 2300 kinds of foreign packaging machinery products, with a large number of complete sets, and new technologies and products continue to appear. On the one hand, foreign packaging machinery products are developing towards high-precision and large-scale, on the other hand, they are developing towards multi-function. For example, the low-dose particle packaging machine of ilapak company in Italy adopts mechanical drum metering, continuous sealing and cutting, one machine with multiple stations, and the packaging speed can reach 120 Bags/minute. Its control system adopts microcomputer and programmable controller. Compared with developed countries, China's packaging machinery products have fewer varieties and supporting quantities, only more than 1300. It lacks high-precision and large-scale packaging machinery products, and is still blank in steel two-piece can forming equipment, high-precision electronic metering devices, high-speed resistance welding machines, large-scale hollow container forming machinery, etc

3. the gap between production technology and enterprise management

at present, most foreign packaging machinery enterprises adopt cad/cam technology, and CNC machining centers and flexible manufacturing systems are also widely used. The management of technology, production and sales of packaging machinery enterprises in developed countries has basically realized computerization. However, China's packaging machinery manufacturing enterprises have prominent problems such as low level of technical equipment, obsolete equipment, low efficiency and poor precision, which have resulted in the lack of market competitiveness of enterprises

IV. challenges faced by packaging machinery in the 21st century

in the packexpo98 held in Chicago in November 1998, frederler, chairman of the American Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association (PMMI), delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, talking about the challenges of the packaging industry in the 21st century: globalization, personalized packaging and flexibility are the most important key factors for packaging machinery in the 21st century

1. globalization

in the 21st century, more multinational packaging enterprises will appear. Global super suppliers such as Nestle and Procter & Gamble require packaging technologies that can be supported all over the world. By the 2008 packaging exhibition, a new generation of global packaging suppliers may participate in the exhibition. Their application networks can quickly respond to the market. In the first few years of the new century, manufacturers in the world market require reliable, firm and flexible packaging systems to meet the increasingly complex packaging requirements of consumers. In the next few years, e-commerce will be a better way of business. The E-world has no boundaries. No matter packaging specifications, bidding, design, contract signing, operation manuals, etc., can be freely transmitted. World Wide Web, a powerful technology, can bring huge business opportunities to the global packaging machinery market. It can complete the core business through networking, improve after-sales service, shorten the turnover cycle, and obtain greater benefits from limited resources, so as to achieve the purpose of selling goods. The role of e-commerce in the marketing of packaging machinery is mainly reflected in: it is conducive to opening up the international market, establishing 24-hour service, and getting customer feedback.
